Safeguarding Policy

RCCG Rehoboth House Nottingham is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults. We believe that every person deserves to be safe, respected, and protected.

1. Our Commitment

We are committed to:

• Creating a safe environment for all children and vulnerable adults who engage with our church
• Following best practice guidelines in all areas of children's and youth ministry
• Ensuring all workers who have regular contact with children are appropriately DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checked
• Taking all concerns and allegations seriously and responding promptly

2. Safeguarding Lead

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is responsible for all safeguarding matters within the church. If you have a concern about the welfare of a child or vulnerable adult, please contact us immediately.

3. Reporting a Concern

If you have concerns about a child or vulnerable adult, please:

• Speak to our Designated Safeguarding Lead immediately
• If there is immediate danger, contact the police on 999
• For non-emergency concerns, contact Nottinghamshire Children's Services on 0300 500 8080
• If the concern is about an adult at risk, contact Nottinghamshire Adult Safeguarding on 0300 500 8080

4. Safe Recruitment

All volunteers and staff who work with children or vulnerable adults at Rehoboth House are required to undergo a DBS check before beginning any role involving direct contact with minors or vulnerable persons.

5. Code of Conduct

All workers with children and young people at Rehoboth House are required to adhere to our code of conduct, which includes never being alone with a child, maintaining appropriate boundaries, and reporting any concerns immediately.

6. Related Policies

This safeguarding policy operates alongside our Privacy Policy and the RCCG UK Zone 6 safeguarding framework. Copies of all policies are available upon request from the church office.
